Ruben Castro MD
PLASTIC SURGEON
Aesthetic surgery is deeply personal. It exists at the intersection of identity, confidence, and perception.
Aesthetic Philosophy
Form, Structure & Longevity
For some, the goal is refinement. For others, it is meaningful change. The starting point is always the same: understanding what already exists before deciding what to change.
His philosophy is built on intention. Every surgical decision must serve proportion, structural integrity, and long-term outcome. The measure of success is not how noticeable a change appears, but how confidently it integrates into a person’s overall presence.
Background
A Foundation of Discipline
Before medicine, Dr. Castro served as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman. In high-pressure environments, preparation was constant and standards were uncompromising.
That discipline continues to define his operating room today.
Training
Academic Foundation & Surgical Specialization
Dr. Castro earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA before completing six years of integrated plastic surgery training at UC Irvine.
He also pursued advanced aesthetic specialization through the Bruce Connell Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship, an intensive program focused on complex primary and revision surgery of the face, breast, and body. This training sharpened his precision, surgical judgment, and understanding of the deeper architecture of the face and body.

Individualized Surgical Planning
Every surgical plan begins with listening: to the patient’s goals, their anatomy, and what they are not yet saying. Planning is individualized, with careful attention to anatomy, proportion, and personal goals. The objective is not to impose a style, but to refine what already exists so that the result feels natural, balanced, and authentic to the individual.
